Kundapur: Priest killed in gory mishap near Maravanthe beach

Kundapur, Dec 14, 2013: A priest was killed and another injured in a road mishap involving a Qualis vehicle and a lorry near the Trasi-Maravanthe beach late night on December 12, Thursday.
The Qualis car was returning after dropping the Gokarna Swamiji. Uday Kumar, the priest of the Manchi Moonthi Maru Durga Parameshwari Temple near Bantwal was killed in the mishap. It is learnt, he was caught inside the badly mangled vehicle and was removed with great difficulty. However, Uday who had sustained serious head injuries, breathed his last.
Dr Kishan Kumar Sullia, a doctor of Mangalore origin who too was in the car sustained minor injuries. The lorry driver has fled the scene of the accident. Kundapur police are investigating.
