Kundapur : Gang of assailants barge into house; attack 4 family members

Kundapur, Aug 13, 2013 : Four members of a family sustained injuries when a group of around 30 persons barged into their house at Mookambika Janata Colony at Sharke near Vandse on August 11, Sunday night. A dispute over releasing water to the colony is said to be the cause of the attack.

The house owner Nazir Saab used to be the pump operator who released water to the colony. But some time back a person named Uday took over the responsibility from Nazir forcibly. But when there were complaints that he was not doing justice to his duty, Nazir Saab’s son Imran had recently released water and even removed the fuse and kept it near the pump.

It is suspected that agitated over this, the Uday led gang had attacked the family. The injured namely Nazir Saab’ sons Imran (18), Rizwan (21), Irfan (17) and wife Faridabanu (40) were hospitalized.

Later, fearing police action, the accused namely  Uday, Gopal, Manja, Vinod, Mahesh and Avinash got themselves admitted to hospital.

If the Nazir Saab family lodged a complaint with the police, the accused too have lodged a counter complaint.
