Brahmavar, Oct 28, 2026: Police have arrested another accused in connection with the murder of rowdy-sheeter Sujith Pinto, which took place on Tuesday night at Baikady, under the jurisdiction of Brahmavar police station.

The arrested person has been identified as Pradeep Poojary, brother of the prime accused, Pramod Poojary, who has already been arrested by the police. Pradeep is reportedly an autorickshaw driver, while Pramod works as a mason.

Sujith Pinto, who was residing in Santhekatte in Udupi, had moved to Baikady about five years ago. According to reports, the individuals involved belonged to the same group and frequently got into arguments after consuming alcohol. It is alleged that, over the past few days, Sujith had been verbally abusing and harassing the two brothers.

Investigators suspect that the dispute led to the brothers asking Sujith to meet them near the Baikady Circle on Tuesday night. As arranged, the two brothers arrived at the spot along with Sujith and one of his friends.

An argument reportedly broke out between them, during which Pramod Poojary allegedly struck Sujith on the head with an iron rod, killing him.

Following the incident, police promptly arrested Pramod. They subsequently launched a search operation and arrested Pradeep Poojary, who had allegedly fled the scene.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station, and further investigation is underway.
