I was literally shaking: Woman catches man recording her inside Bengaluru metro; FIR filed

Mangalore Today News Network

Bengaluru, Oct 28, 2026: Hours after a Bengaluru woman alleged that a man secretly filmed her on his mobile phone at Whitefield-Kadugodi Metro station, she said on Tuesday that she has filed an FIR at the Kadugodi Police Station.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, she showed her confronting the man and chasing him before approaching Metro security personnel.

Secret filming

The man allegedly fled with her bag following the confrontation. The woman chased him and managed to catch up with him, retrieving her bag and taking possession of his mobile phone. She then approached Metro security personnel for assistance. However, she alleged that the man snatched his phone back and fled.

In a video posted later, she said she approached the Kadugodi police and added that they acknowledged her complaint and filed an FIR against the unknown man.

"They registered an FIR. They have promised me that it will be taken care of as soon as possible. They’ve been very helpful. They immediately took in the case and registered an FIR. They have also identified a few people who resemble the video guy. So once they properly identify the person, further action will be taken," she said.

Further, she encouraged women to file police complaints if they ever come across people like the person in her video.

"Girls, don’t be afraid. Police will help you. Have that courage. If any guy is being a creep around you, if any guy is harassing you, don’t keep quiet. Confront them. If you’re scared to do it on your own, go to the cops. They are helpful. File that case. Don’t let these creeps walk away freely," she said in the video.

She also thanked all the people who supported her after she posted the initial video.

In her first post, the woman had said she was wearing formal clothing and was fully covered. She added that women should not have to justify their attire while reporting alleged harassment.

She had also filed a complaint with the metro station authorities.
