Kidnap bid on businessman : Ravi Poojari aide arrested

Mangalore, Jan 4,2013: Mulki police have, on January 3, Thursday, arrested one Bharat alias Bharathesh said to be an aide of underworld don Ravi Poojari. Bharat is said be an accused in the case of a kidnap bid on Cyprian D’Souza, a real estate businessman from Kinnigoli.

goons 1 The police had earlier arrested Chittaranjan alias Chittu and Subrahmanya alias Subbu in connection with the case in November. Chittaranjan too is said to be an aide of Ravi Poojari. Bharath was produced before the court on Thursday and remanded to police custody.

The kidnap bid took place in October 2012 near the residence of Cyprian at Padmanur. Four men had then tried to kidnap him at gunpoint, but Cyprian had managed to escape.

Investigations are in progress. Police suspect that many more persons might be involved in this kidnap bid.
