Kasargod, April 3, 2013: A man who was relishing ice cream in the company of two girls at an ice cream parlour in the town was brutally attacked by a group of vigilantes on April 1, Monday. Police have already arrested one person in connection with the incident.
Abdulla(34), a resident of Talangere who worked as a sales manager in Mangalore, was injured in the attack and has been hospitalized.
The arrested person is identified as Priyesh(20). Police said they are on the look out for the other accused in this case. It is said there were a total of seven persons in the gang.
Sources said the two girls who were in the company of Abdulla were students of Central University and the three were having ice cream after a meeting over the plans to organize a joint blood donation camp under the aegis of the University and some clubs.
It is learnt, one of the accused Priyesh was trapped with the help of the locals while others managed to flee.
