Kasargod: Fire breaks out in clinic, loss estimated at Rs 25 lakh

Kasargod, Sep 23, 2025: A fire broke out late Monday night at a dermatology and pediatric clinic located in Ashwini Nagar, causing an estimated loss of around Rs. 25 lakh.

Around 11:30 p.m., smoke was noticed inside the clinic, prompting nearby hotel workers to alert the fire department. Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to control the blaze, preventing further damage.

Although the thick smoke inside the four-room clinic hampered rescue and firefighting operations, the fire personnel successfully extinguished the fire. Items including fans, computers, furniture, a fridge, clinic equipment, medicines, and air conditioners were damaged in the fire.

The building houses 15 establishments, including a hotel, a computer institute, a dental clinic, a finance office, and lodging facilities. The clinic operates on the ground floor of the building. The loss is estimated at approximately Rs. 25 lakh. Preliminary reports suggest that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
