The approval followed a request by Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader and was announced by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar during his visit to the Dargah on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Shivakumar said, “Ullal Dargah symbolizes unity, drawing lakhs of devotees with faith and devotion. As my contribution, I pledge to donate 50 sheep for the Annadaan (community feast) on the final day of the Uroos.”

The Deputy CM condemned the Pahalgam incident and expressed gratitude for the Friday prayers offered by Muslims across the nation for the safety of soldiers and success in military operations. “I deeply appreciate this gesture. Protecting our country is a shared responsibility,” he stated.

Highlighting the role of institutions in societal transformation, he remarked, “It’s not about financial aid alone but about how institutions contribute to social and educational progress. The Dargah Committee should strive to make meaningful contributions to society.”

The evening included a religious discourse featuring speakers Hamza Misbahi Ottappadav and Abdul Khader Sakhafi Mudugud, while Abdul Khader Haji from Bengaluru led the prayers.

Prominent attendees included Speaker U.T. Khader, Puttur MLA Ashok Rai, MLA Manjunath Bhandari, and Congress leaders Mithun Rai, Rakshith Shivaram, and Inayat Ali. The event also saw participation from Tahsildar Puttaraju, among others.

Dargah President Haneef Haji welcomed the gathering and delivered the inaugural address.
