Mangalore, Sep 26, 2012: When Jyothi Raj, who is popularly known as Kothi Raj, climbed a building on Kala Kunj Road in Kodialbail with the ease and dexterity of a monkey, huge crowds of people watched him in delight.
Jyothi Raj, a resident of Chitradurga, is famous for his ability to scale building walls. He has accomplished this feat in Udupi, Mysore, and Bangalore.
On September 25, Tuesday, he climbed Shalini Enclave in Kodialbail.
Every year, Jyothi Raj visits Udupi during the Ganeshotsav season to entertain the people, but this year, he decided to come to Mangalore. Though scheduled to climb the PVS building, he was denied permission to do so because of the heavy traffic in the area. He then decided to climb Shalini Enclave on Kala Kunj Road.
Interacting with reporters, Jyothi Raj promised to re-visit Mangalore and get permission to climb the tallest building in the city. He also expressed his unhappiness that the government is not supporting him in anyway although he has a large number of fans and students flock to him in large numbers to learn from him.
His friend Ashok, who had arranged his visit to Mangalore, said that he likes to support those who perform stunts.
