Mangalore, Apr 9, 2013: Sudarshan Shetty Permanki, President, JD(S) Mangalore (North) constituency unit said that he was not quitting the party as reported in some newspapers.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Apr 9, Tuesday, he said that some leaders who had convened a press meet to inform about the mass resignation recently, had said that he along with Chief Secretary Hakeem Vamanjoor will also quit the party. But, what they have said is false, Shetty made it clear.
He also said that including him and Hakeem no other member from the Mangalore (North) constituency unit have resigned for the party. The confusion that rocked the party recently has nothing to do with the Mangalore North Constituency unit of the party, he clarified. Permanki said that they have recommended to the state Chief HD Kumaraswamy the names of leaders Dhanraj and Ghulam Mohammed along with his name for the Mangalore North constituency.The party workers will abide by any decision which the party leaders take, he said.
JD(S) leaders Hakeem Vamanjoor, Rafiq, Thempanna Shetty and Rajeev Shetty were present.
