Vital, May 7: Home Minister R. Ashok inaugurated the brand new police station at Vittla on May 7, Saturday. In his inaugural address, he said that the building will benefit the people of the area and urged the police personnel to develop friendly relationships with the local people while dealing sternly with terrorist, naxals, culprits, and other anti-social elements.

Speaking about the need to modernize the police department, he said that the police department needs to adopt the latest technology because all criminals are now using technology to commit crimes.
District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar also spoke on the occasion and said that the police department should have all the required facilities to deal with criminals and maintain law and order.
Mallika Prasad, Puttur MLA, presided over the event. SP Labhu Ram delivered the welcome address, and Prabhakar proposed the vote of thanks.
