Mangalore, Apr 9, 2013: The Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi leaders who had convened a press meet in Mangalore on April 9, Tuesday to urge the people to celebrate Ugadi in accordance to traditions, instead of celebrating the Western New Year had to face embarrassment when scribes hurled a volley of questions at them.
The Samithi members had no answer when scribes asked about the celebration of Bisu in the region which is the local new year celebration and whether in this case the Ugadi celebrations of April 11 would not be foreign celebrations.
