Grand finale of punar prathishta at Shri Venkataramana Temple

Mangalore, June 13, 2012: Members of the Gowda Saraswath Brahmin (GSB) community gathered in large numbers at Shri Venkataramana Temple on Car Street, Mangalore for the grand finale of the punar prathishta (re-installation) rituals of the idol of Shri Vyasa Raghupathi at 5 :00 a.m. 

The punar prathishta ceremony had begun on June 9, and today is the grand finale of the event. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shrimad Sudheendra Teertha, the senior seer of Shri Kashi Mutt Samsthan, along with his disciple and successor Shri Samyameendra Teertha Swamiji, conducted the rituals of the re-installation of the idol of Shri Vyasa Raghupathi, the presiding deity of Shri Kashi Mutt Samsthan, at the temple at the Karkataka Lagnam at 8:45 a.m. 

These rituals included the panchamrutha abhisheka for the idols of Shri Vyasa Raghupathi and Lord Narasimha, 108 aavarthane pavamana kalashabhisheka, gangadhi sapthaha teerthabhisheka, sanidhya Havana, mahapurnahuthi, and muhurtha nireekshane. 

Close to 10,000 devotees, along with thousands of volunteers, took part in rituals such as prasanna puja, astamangala nireekshana, patta kanike, and others. As part of these rituals, devotees made offerings in the form of money to the temple and received prasadam and blessings in return. 

Right now, the saptha is being held in the temple from the morning. 

The temple authorities have provided food to devotees and visitors irrespective of caste at more than 10 counters.
