Pointing out the obvious double standards of justice for farmers and industrialists, he said that the government is willing to take away the lands of the farmers and give them to the industrialists for the establishment of factories, but the government will never take away the land of the industrialists and give it to the farmers for agriculture. He also said that the situation has become so bad that the very farmers, who produce food for the nation, have to go on a hunger strike for justice. He urged the government to provide the Patrao family with land.

He also said that anybody will understand the sensitivity of the situation after seeing the CD of the demolition of Patrao’s house by the KIADB authorities. He assured the protestors that he will personally hand over a copy of the CD to Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa when he meets him at the Krishi Utsav, which will be held in Chickmagalur the following day. Expressing his confidence that the CM will surely respond in favor of Mr. Patrao, he aid that Patrao’s hunger strike might come to an end tomorrow.

Before attending the press conference, Mr. Anand and a few farmers had watched the CD of the demolition of Mr. Patrao’s house and had discussed the matter with Mr. Patrao and his supporters.
