Mangalore Today News Network

Dr V S AcharyaMangalore, May 19:  Home Minister V. S. Acharya said that the state government cannot take action against Shri Rama Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik because the news channel that organized the sting operation has not provided a copy of the video. The home minister added that the government will take action as soon as it receives a copy of the video and verifies its authenticity.

Referring to the Mangalore pub case, the home minister said that no action could be taken against the culprits because the victims did not come forward to lodge complaints. He said that suo-motu action can be initiated if the police find concrete evidence against a person who threatens to harm an individual or society, adding that the police will explore that aspect of the issue.

Reliable sources in the police department state that the police can file a suo-motu case against Muthalik.

Meanwhile, the Congress and JD(S) have demanded immediate action to be taken against Muthalik as well as the immediate banning of the organization.
