Gopalakrishna’s books on Shri Narayana Guru released

Mangalore, Nov 21: A book release ceremony, during which two books based on the historic significance of the life and messages of Shri Narayana Guru, was jointly organized by Brahmashree Narayana Guruswamy Publishers and Charitable Trust and Aathmashakthi tri-monthly magazine at Glass House in Shree Gokarnanatheshwar Temple, Kudroli on Nov 21, Sunday.

The book “Brahmashree Narayana Guru Mathhu Kshetra Kudroli” was released by former union minister B. Janardhana Poojary while the book “Brahmashree Narayana Guru” was released by Justice K. Sukumaran, the former judge of Mumbai High Court.

The writer Nekkidapuni Gopalakrishna urged the backward classes not to forget the unparalleled contributions and sacrifices of Shree Narayana Guru, who laid the foundation for social reform. He said that forgetting pioneers of development such as Shree Narayana Guru is a shame and added that he should be not worshipped as a relic of the past, but as a hope for the future.

Lauding the writer for taking the trouble to pen these two books on Shri Narayana Guru, Mr. Poojary urged people to read them and enrich their social and historical knowledge.

Shivagiri Mutt Seer Swami Sathyananda Teertha said in his inaugural address that Narayana Guru was not the leader of a particular caste or community, but was a global leader bearing a universal message.

Jaya C. Suvarna, the businessman, presided over the programme. Amruth Someshwar, the senior litterateur; K. Chinnappa Gowda, the registrar of Mangalore University; Harikrishna Bantwal; K. Waman; and D. S. Sadananda were also present.
