Gold mask offered to Goddess Mangala Devi

Mangalore, Oct 8: The Navarathri Utsava commenced at Mahathobhara Shri Mangaladevi Temple at Bolar in a grand manner accompanied by music and dancing dolls on Oct 8, Friday.

M. Raghunath Shetty of S. L. Shet Jewelers and DC V. Ponnuraj offered a gold mask weighing 2.5kg and worth Rs. 30 lakh to Chief Priest Padmanabha Aithal and Managing Trustee Ramnath Hegde before a large number of devotees. Later, the gold mask was taken in a procession around the temple. A main door made of 40kgs of silver and worth Rs. 30 lakh has also been offered.

Sudhakar Rao Pejawar; Ajith Kumar Maladi, the president of the Bunt’s Association; and Corporator Premanand Shetty were also present.
