Gangolli, Nov 3, 2025: A case has been registered at the Gangolli Police Station after two individuals allegedly cheated several people of ₹86.79 lakh by promising jobs and visas for employment abroad.
According to reports, Prakruthi and Elton Rebello, who run Annekal Public School in Bengaluru, visited Gangolli in April 2024 and met Tina Nazareth of Gujjadi. They allegedly promised to arrange employment visas for jobs in Australia and collected large sums of money from Tina and her acquaintances.
Tina reportedly transferred ₹34 lakh, while her friends — Johnson Fernandes ₹8 lakh, Leeta Pinto ₹6.8 lakh, Sophia Pinto ₹19.5 lakh, and Reena Praveen Noronha ₹18 lakh — collectively paid a total of ₹86.79 lakh to the accused in several instalments.
However, the promised visas were never arranged, and the accused failed to return the money, leading to allegations of fraud. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
