Fr. Dominic Vas OCD celebrates silver jubilee of priestly life

Mangalore, Apr 15, 2012: Fr. Dr. Dominic Vas OCD celebrated the silver jubilee of his priestly ordination at St. Joseph the Worker Church on April 14 Saturday at 19:30 a.m. 

Fr. Dominic Vas himself celebrated the thanksgiving mass with Fr. Archibald Gonsalves and Fr. Godfrey Saldanha concelebrating. Fr. John Sequeira of Rishivana delivered the homily. 

A formal stage program was arranged post mass on the church grounds. Fr. Michael Morris Shenoy raised the toast on the occasion; Leo Vas delivered the welcome address; and members of Fr. Dominic Vas’s family sang the prayer song. 

Fr. Michael and Fr. Archibald Gonsalves spoke about their experiences with Fr. Dominic Vas on the occasion. The master of ceremonies was Gerald Lobo. 

Florine Vas, the mother of Fr. Dr. Dominic Vas; Fr. Godfrey Saldanha; Fr. Archibald Gonsalves; and Fr. Michael Morris Shenoy were among the dignitaries on the dais. 

Fr. Godfrey Saldanha felicitated Fr. Dominic Vas with a shawl and a garland on behalf of St. Joseph the Worker church. 

Friends, family members, and well wishers greeted Fr. Dominic Vas, congratulated him, and wished him well.
