Mangaluru, May 29, 2025: District Congress Vice President and former mayor Ashraf has quit the Congress Party in protest against the alleged inaction of the state government in putting a check on the untoward incidents and communally motivated murders in Dakshina Kannada district.
It may be recalled here that minority community leaders of the Congress party have already decided to tender resignation enmasse to the party and have convened a meeting on Friday to discuss this issue.
But Ashraf has resigned a day in advance as a mark of protest against the so called inaction of the state government and also the failure of the authorities in ensuring law and order in the district.
