Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2025: In an inspiring initiative aimed at empowering government school students to face future challenges, former journalist Srinivasan Nandagopal has embarked on a state-wide journey titled “Dreams on Wheels.”

Under this project, Nandagopal will travel across Karnataka on his Honda CB350 to conduct interactive sessions on “Skill Development, Exam Preparedness, and Career Pathways” for Class 10 students in government schools. The initiative is designed to reach students who often remain underexposed and lack confidence as they transition to higher education.

“I plan to conduct 62 sessions of 90 minutes each across all 31 districts of Karnataka, reaching out to over 30,000 students in the next three months starting November,” Nandagopal said.

Beyond the sessions, the project also aims to evaluate the state of government schools, including their academic infrastructure and teacher efficiency.

Nandagopal and his wife, Sachitha, had earlier left their professional careers to establish the Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL), a non-profit organization that has been working for the past 16 years to enhance the education system through training modules, campaigns, and educational events.

A former Senior Correspondent of The Times of India, Nandagopal brings his journalistic perspective to the initiative. Sachitha, a Dance Movement Therapy Facilitator and former Principal of CMR Centre for Media Studies, Bengaluru, currently serves as a Member of the Juvenile Justice Board, Dakshina Kannada, appointed by the Government of Karnataka.

“I wish to combine my passion for adventure, concern for government education, and journalistic experience through this project, traveling over 4,000 km to learn from the ground,” Nandagopal remarked.

The project “Dreams on Wheels” was announced on World Students’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
