Bantwal, March 8, 2025: In a daring daylight burglary, thieves broke into a house near Urimajalu on the Kabaka-Vittal Road and escaped with 60 grams of gold ornaments.
The incident occurred at the residence of Ganesh Gowda, situated near the road leading to the temple. The Vittal police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Ganesh Gowda’s family, who run a grocery store near the Urimajalu petrol pump, had left home on Friday morning. While they usually took their gold ornaments with them, this time, they left them behind. Seizing the opportunity, the burglars broke the front door lock, ransacked the house, and scattered belongings in search of valuables. Despite being hidden under clothes, the gold ornaments were discovered and stolen.
Upon being alerted, the police responded swiftly. A canine squad and fingerprint experts examined the crime scene, and investigations are ongoing.
