Dakshina Kannada reports third COVID-19 death

Mangaluru, April 30, 2020: In the third COVID-19 fatality in Dakshina Kannada, a 69-year-old woman died at a Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru on Thursday, April 30.

The woman from Bantwal, being treated at the Hospital from April 18. Her condition was critical from few days and was on ventilator support in the intensive care unit. She passed without responding to treatment on at 5.40 pm on Thursday.

She was the immediate neighbour of P-390 who succumbed to the disease on April 19. The patient was diagnosed to be suffering from severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and was treated for viral pneumonia. She was tested coronavirus-positive on April 20.

Todday, a 58-year-old woman from Boloor has tested positive for Covid-19. With this the total Corona cases reported from the district has risen to 22. The district currently has seven active Covid-19 patients, while three had succumbed to the disease.
