DV Sadananda Gowda may soon defect to JD(S), says Dhananjaya

Mangalore, Feb 17, 2013: Dhananjaya Kumar, State  Secretary of the Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) has  hinted at the possibilities of former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda joining the JD(S) in  the near future.

Speaking to reporters at Hotel Woodlands on February 17, Sunday, Dhananjaya said  DVS might defect to the JD(S) as he is neglected in the BJP. His defection would be advantageous to the KJP, he observed.

He said the KJP has been formally registered and a gazette notification has also been issued by the Election Commission. He said the KJP hopes to corner at least 40 per cent seats in the coming assembly elections.

Dhananjaya also announced the names of the new office bearers of the district committee of the party. He informed that K Ravindra Shetty would be the District KJP President, while Gokuldas Bhandarkar from Belthangady, Dr Lawrence D’Souza, Shivappa from Pachanady, Abdul Khader, Bhaskar Rao and Ashok Kumar Jain would be the new Vice Presidents.

Dhananjaya further informed that K Bhaskar Poojary, Aboobaker Kairangala and Guruchandra Hegde  will be the district unit General Secretaries. Hameed Kandak  will be  the district spokesperson, while Kiran Shetty, Jyotika Jain and Hamid Kudroli  are the new chiefs of the  Youth wing, Women’s wing and Minority wing respectively, he said.

Ramachandra Baikampady, Ravindra Shetty, Yogish Kumar Jeppu, Mariamma Thomas were also present at the press meet.
