A formal stage program was held in Eric Mathaias Hall after the inauguration ceremony, with Brijesh Patel, Matthew Betsey, Martin Gleeson, Congress worker J. R. Lobo, St. Aloysius College Principal Fr. Swebert D’Silva, and Shashidhar Kodikal on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, Brijest Patel appreciated the initiative, but lamented that most cricket academies in India lack planned structure. Expressing hopes that the project will maintain its standards, he said that proper training at the right age is essential for cricket. Advising students to work hard at their cricket, he urged them to pay attention to their studies too. He also hoped that a good cricket stadium will soon be built in Mangalore.

Speaking about the cricket education program, Martin Gleeson said that the academy will focus on young children and give them the training they require. He said that modern coaching technologies will be adopted and 25 coaches will be trained so that they can train young cricketers. The program will include camps, tournament preparation, and sessions by cricket players of international repute such as Mike Hussey and Brett Lee.

He announced that 25 coaches from 10 cities will be trained on September 20 – 26 in Jaipur and 2 coaches from Mangalore will take part in it.

Gleeson and Betsey presented a certificate of partnership to Mangala Sports Club on this occasion.

Rohan Monteiro, Samuel Jayaraj, Devdas Nayak P., and many others were present.
