Mangalore, May 31, 2013: Ajai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank has informed that the Bank has been doing commendable works in the field of Official Language Implementation.
Addressing press persons at the Bank’s Head Office on May 31, Friday,Ajai Kumar said the Official Language Implementation Committee of the Bank has bagged the Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award given by the Government of India, thrice at the national level. The efforts made by the bank in the implementation of official language in its office and TOLIC offices have been commended even by the Home Ministry, he informed.
He said the Bank’s website and Core Banking Facility is in dual language and added Hindi workshop is also conducted to facilitate bank staff to make maximum use of official language in their day to day works.
The Chairman further informed that the Bank conducts various contests for its staff on Hindi Day in order to popularize official language. It also publishes three journals named Kshema, Mangala and Tridhara, he further stated.
Ajai Kumar said awards like Corp Karyapalak Puraskar Yojana, Corp Rajabhasha Puraskar Yojana, Rajbhasha Shield etc have been introduced in order to encourage the staff to use Hindi.
Ajai Kumar said along with Hindi, the Banka also gave due prominence to the state language Kannada and added the house journal Kshema also had a Kannada section. The publicity materials of the bank are also published in Kannada too while the name boards are mentioned in Kannada, Hindi and English, he said.
To promote Kannada, the Bank has Sirigandha Kannada Balaga which publishes Sirigandha journal every year, the Chairman informed. BK Srivatsav, AL Daultani,Executive Directors were also present.
