Construction of golf courses will boost tourism: Santhosh Hegde

Mangalore, December 13: In his address after inaugurating the Justice K. S. Hegde Memorial Guest House at Pilikula Golf Club, Lokayukta N. Santhosh Hegde said that the construction of golf courses in developing cities will boost tourism. Admitting his fondness for golf, he said that he plays golf when he is free and that he is a member of several golf clubs in New Delhi and other cities.

 

District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, Moodubidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Nitte University Chancellor Vinay Hegde, entrepreneur Prasanna Hegde, IGP of western range Alok Mohan, and State Minorities Commission President Anwar Manippady were also present.

Interacting with journalists on the sidelines of the programme, Justice Santhosh Hegde said that he will investigate any complaints against H. D. Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister of Karnataka, adding that he has received no complaint so far. Regarding the advertisement campaign launched by the BJP in response to JD (S) allegations against CM B. S. Yeddyurappa, he said that there were no complaints against the advertisement campaign either. Clarifying that he is not entitled to interfere in a political party’s activities, the Justice said that he can act only on complaints against the government.

In response to a reporter’s query regarding the KIADB land scam, Hegde said that the Lokayukta police are likely to file a charge sheet soon, adding that the Lokayukta is uncovering new facts related to the charge sheet as soon as they come close to filing it.
