Bantwal, Nov 27, 2025: The Pudu Gram Panchayat has collected a fine of ₹3,000 from a man who attempted to dump waste in a public place at Amemar, within the panchayat limits.

Ramlon Maripalla, who was elected president of the Pudu Gram Panchayat for the second term, had decided in the very first meeting to take strict action against indiscriminate dumping of garbage. He had also announced a reward of ₹1,000 for anyone providing clear information about those dumping waste.

When a hotel operator from Amemar arrived late at night to dump garbage, locals stopped him and informed Panchayat President Ramlon Maripalla.

With the assistance of the police, the president gathered the necessary information. Following this, Panchayat Development Officer Smruthi U. collected a fine of ₹3,000 from the offender and issued a warning, according to a press release from the Pudu Gram Panchayat.
