Congress confident of winning ZP and TP elections

Mangalore, Dec 13: Former MLA M. A. Nanaiah and Vijayakumar visited the office of the District Congress on Dec 13, Monday.

 

 

Addressing reporters at a press meet, Vijayakumar said that the party must ascertain how many of the seats won can be given to the youth as common justice. He expressed confidence that the Congress will get 22 – 23 of the 35 available seats in the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) and 80 – 90 of the 129 seats available in the Taluk Panchayat (TP).

Owing to the bad management of the state and the bad roads, the Congress is sure to get the majority, said Nanaiah. Since the Congress has always given tickets to young people, and not old ones, the practice will continue, he said.

Referring to the Congress as the protective wall of the district, Bantwal MLA B. Ramanath Rai said that it will give seats to the winning candidates. Flaying the BJP, he said that the BJP-led state government is the most corrupt government, yet the CM has false hopes of winning the elections.

Declaring that the Congress is the strongest political party, which includes people of all castes, classes, communities, and religions, he said that the party has always worked for social welfare.
