Christian delegation visits Sanghaniketan Ganeshotsav, highlights Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s vision of unity

Mangaluru, Sep 1, 2025: The 78th Ganeshotsav celebrations at the RSS office Sanghaniketan concluded with the immersion procession, marking the successful completion of the annual festivities. As part of the celebrations, a Christian delegation visited the venue, offered prayers to Lord Ganesha, and received prasadam, sending out a message of communal harmony.

 

 

 

 

 

The delegation, led by the Rastravadi Christian Vedike (Nationalist Christian Forum), presented flowers and fruits, visited the newly built RSS office, and interacted with the leadership. Forum convener Franklin Montero said the visit symbolised national unity: “Though our religious practices may differ, in nationalism we are one. Every year, without expecting anything in return, we participate with devotion, faith, and a sense of national interest.”

On the occasion, Bharatanatyam artiste Remona Evette Pereira, who recently entered the world record, was felicitated by the Ganeshotsav Committee. Later, the participants shared breakfast together as a mark of harmony.

Prominent office-bearers of the Ganeshotsav Samiti, RSS leaders, and representatives of the Christian community, including Dr. Jessy Maria, Dr. Elvis Rodrigues, Dr. Teresa Lydia Mendonca, Prof. Sandhya D’Souza, and others, were present.
