Chaitra Nayak bags 4 Gold Medals and a Cash prize

Mangalore, April 16, 2012 : Chaitra Nayak, student of Maharani College bagged 4 Gold Medals and a Cash Prize at the Annual Convocation held at Mysore University, Crafford Hall for having secured highest marks in M.Sc (psychology) in the exams held during June 2011.

 

 

She is a former student of St. Aloysius College who had secured 7th rank in B.Sc. exam held by Mangalore University

Chief Minister, D. V. Sadananda Gowda  who is also holding the charge of Higher Education distributed the prizes. Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smt. Purandeshwari was the Chief Guest  on the occasion. Vice Chancellor Prof. V.G.Thalawar gave introductory speech and compared the programme.

14,554 graduate & 3129 post graduate degrees were awarded, 24 graduates and five post graduates received five gold medals and prizes.

Chaitra is the daughter of Somanath Nayak and Vidya nayak. She is the elder sister of Chaitanya Nayak. Chaitra will be tying knot with Sandeep, son of P.Harishchandra, Dy.S.P, Mangalore, on 25th April. Both the sisters are famous Bharathnatya &folk dancers. Chaitra has also got Aryabhata youth award for dance in 2007
