Case Registered for Spreading False Information on WhatsApp in Bantwal

Mangaluru, Oct 5, 2025: Bantwal Rural police have booked a man for allegedly spreading false information on WhatsApp regarding a police raid on an illegal slaughterhouse at Maripalla Padi in Pudu village, Bantwal taluk.
Police said the accused, identified on the WhatsApp group Muslim Voice as “Royal Zakir,” circulated misleading messages that created panic and unrest among the public.
Earlier, police had seized a property in Maripalla Padi where cow slaughter was allegedly being carried out illegally. Following this, Zakir reportedly posted false claims on the group objecting to the seizure.
A case has been registered against him under Sections 353(2) and 240 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
