Mangalore, Oct 6, 2013: Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC has stressed the need for a strong movement to fight against the establishment of the Niddodi thermal power project as well as the Netravathi diversion project which are detrimental to the interests of the coastal region.
He was addressing the district BJP Committee meeting held at the party office here on October 5, Saturday.
He also called upon the BJP workers to gear up for a united movement against the project. He blamed the Congress led UPA government at the Centre for all problems facing the nation at present. The people are hoping for a change and the BJP workers will have to respond to the aspirations of the people, he said.
The meeting was earlier inaugurated by former MLA Kumble Sunder Rao. Sulochana GK Bhat who was elected State BJP Vice President, was felicitated on the occasion.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Angara, MLA, K Monappa bhandari, MLC, Koragappa Naik, ZP President and others were present.
