Bishop releases telefilm on Msgr. Raymond Mascarenhas

Belthangady, April 10, 2012 : Rev. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, released the telefilm Kalpavally, based on the life of Msgr. Raymond F. C. Mascarenhas at Bethany Hall on April 9 Monday. He also launched the website www.rfcmascarenhas.com, which is based on the Servant of God Raymond Mascarenhas.

The Bethany Educational Society produced this telefilm, which is based on the life and works of Msgr Raymond Mascarenhas from birth to death. The lyrics were composed by Shri Sumukananda Jalavally, a teacher at Little Flower Girls’ High School in Kinnigoli. The director of the film was Shri Suresh Attavar and the coordinator was Sr. Reena.

Sr. Wilberta, the superior general, delivered the welcome address.

Speaking about the telefilm, Sr. Rose Celine, the secretary of the Bethany Educational Society, said that 100 artistes have played a role in this telefilm, most of them teachers and students of Little Flower School Kinnigoli.

Sr. Lillis, the assistant superior general, said that the website was created on special requests from people from home as well as abroad who are admirers of Msgr. Raymond Mascarenhas. It comprises nine sections titled Home Page, Messages, News, Details about the Cause of Msgr. Raymond, Favors Received, Articles, Drawings, Paints, and Skits.

In his address, the bishop lauded the efforts of the Bethany Education Society and  said that Msgr Raymond Mascarenhas is an historical person who should be popularized among the people.

Mr. Fernandes of Four Winds was also present on the occasion.
