Mangalore, March 1, 2012: The Bhajarang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad organized a joint protest in front of the DC’s office, during which they objected to M. Veerappa Moily, the union corporate minister, comparing the Bajrang Dal to a ghost.

Calling it a derogatory statement, he said that the Congress itself is a horrifying ghost and its senior leader Moily must be gotten rid of from Mangalore. Stating that Bharangi is the name of Lord Hanuman, he said that Moily has indirectly criticized god and is a shame to his religion. The activists warned that they will not permit Moily to come to Mangalore and participate in any program and that, if he does so, they will protest in front of the venue or at the Mangalore Airport till he apologizes.

Speaking on the occasion, VHP leader Jagadish Shenava said that Moily’s statements reflect ignorance and show that he did not really write “Shri Ramayaneshwane,” but has copied it blindly from somewhere. Someone who has truly studied god and written a religious book will have some religious sentiment and will not make such statements.

They also burnt an effigy of Veerappa Moily on the occasion.

Prof. M. B. Puranik, Harish Amtadi, Gopal Kutthar, and many others also participated.
