Bengre Anand Ameen selected for National Masters Aquatic Championships

Mangalore, Sep 25, 2013 : Master swimmer Bengre Anand Ameen, who won six medals in state level championship, has been selected for the Karnataka Team for Master’s National Aquatic Championships to be held at Rajkot from October 25 to 27.

Ameen, who represented Mangala Swimming Club (MSC), Mangalore at the State-level Masters Aquatic Championship-2013, brought laurels to the club and the city by winning three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The championship was held at Pooja Aquatic Center, Corporation Swimming Pool, Banshankari in Bangalore on September 21 and 22.

Ameen, who participated in 49-54 age group category, won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals in six different events. In the past four decades, he has won over 400 gold medals in 50 meters butterfly, 50 meter breaststroke and 100 meter breaststroke. He also won one silver medal in 4x50 meter medley relay and two bronze medals in 50 meter freestyle relay and 50 meter freestyle.
