Belthangady: Woman killed in bike-car collision near Kanadikatte

Belthangady, May 18, 2026: A woman was killed on the spot in a tragic road accident involving a motorcycle and a car near Kanadikatte in Padangadi of Belthangady taluk on Sunday, May 17.
The deceased has been identified as Shailaja (30), wife of Anil Bhat, proprietor of the well-known Anil Farm in Balanja.
According to reports, Anil Bhat and Shailaja were travelling on a motorcycle after completing work at their farm and were heading towards their site when the accident occurred near Kanadikatte. Their bike reportedly collided with a car, leaving Shailaja with fatal injuries. She died at the scene.
Police personnel arrived at the spot shortly after the incident, conducted a preliminary inspection, and registered a case.
Further investigation is in progress.
