Belthangady: Web cam stolen from polling booth at Thekkar

Belthangady, May 01, 2024: A web cam installed at the polling booth number 228 at the Gopalakrishna aided higher primary school of Thekkar village of Belthangady taluk has been stolen along with the SIM and memory card. A complaint has been lodged in this regard at Uppinangady police station.

 

Camera


The web cam was installed on April 24 and had recorded all proceedings at the booth upto 8 pm on April 26, the day of polling. On April 29, as per the instructions from higher-ups, the  staff concerned had been to the booth to collect the web cam when it was found missing.

The school door was old and was locked. Still the thieves had managed to enter by pushing the door and steal the camera by snapping the cables.

Booth level election officer Mohammad Siyab has lodged a police complaint. Uppinangady police arrived at the spot and are continuing investigation.
