Belthangady: Two arrested for bike theft

Belthangady, Nov 22, 2025: Venoor Police have arrested two individuals for stealing a bike that had been left parked after running out of petrol near Panuru Gurunarayana Circle in Nittade village. The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Irshad (25) of Kerekodi, Venoor, and Sadiq Khan (26) of Kannadikatte, Padangadi. A court has remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody.

Bike theft

On the night of November 11, Sampath Kumar of Kukkedi had left his bike at Panuru after it ran out of petrol. When he returned the next day, the bike was missing, following which he filed a complaint at Venoor Police Station.

On November 20, PSI Oman and his team were on duty at Kerekodi in Venoor when two youths arrived on a bike without a registration number. When they were stopped and checked, they failed to produce any documents. They were taken to the station for inquiry, during which it was revealed that the bike was stolen.
