Belthangady: Police seize house of accused in illegal cattle transport case

Belthangady, Nov 6, 2025: Dharmasthala police have seized the house of an accused who was caught transporting cattle illegally for slaughter.

On November 2, Dharmasthala police intercepted a car on Patturu Road in Patrame village and arrested two persons — Mohammed Khaleel alias Tausif (38) from Ullal taluk and Mohammed Sinan (25) — for illegally transporting three cows for slaughter.


House Sieze

A case was registered at the Dharmasthala police station against them and another person, Zohar from Patturu in Patrame village, under Sections 5 and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2020, and Section 11(1)(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

During investigation, it was revealed that the accused had planned to slaughter the cattle at the house of A2, Ibrahim Khaleel alias Tausif, a resident of Tanchibettu in Sajipnadu village, Ullal taluk. Following this, Dharmasthala police seized Ibrahim Khaleel alias Tausif’s house on November 4.
