Bantwal SI invites ire of court for not responding to notices

Bantwal, Aug 1, 2013: Bantwal Rural Sub-inspector Mahesh Prasad  appeared before the Second Additional District and Sessions Court here on July 31, Wednesday after the Court issued him a warrant in connection with an atrocity case filed by a woman as early as 2010.

It is learnt, the SI had failed to appear in person before the court  and  produce documents and evidences regarding the case.

However, when repeated  notices failed he was served a show cause notice and finally a warrant was issued. However, this time  the SI though appeared before the court failed to furnish documents and the court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.

But,  the SI managed to secure bail the same evening after the intervention of higher officials. Sources said he was released on bail after a stern warning not to repeat such mistakes in future.
