Ankola, Jul 21, 2025: A tragic accident occurred near Agasur village in Ankola taluk when a private sleeper bus fell into a gorge, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to 18 passengers.


Bus plunges


According to reports, the condition of five injured passengers is said to be critical. The bus was en route from Belagavi to Mangaluru via Ankola when the driver reportedly lost control and the vehicle plunged off a narrow bridge into the gorge.

The incident took place around 3 AM today. Locals rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured to a nearby hospital. A case has been registered at Ankola police station.
