Adithya Pai emerges inter-district chess champion

Mangalore, Jan 2, 2012 : Adithya Pai has emerged as the champion of the inter-district chess tournament organized by the Mangalore Chess Academy held in the Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan on Sunday. The runner up is Shabdik Varma of Mangalore Chess Academy.

A number of talented chess players from all over the state participated in this event, and Adithya Pai won all the matches, beating Sharan Rao, the state under-11 champion, and Arjun Adappa.

Of the 56 players who played in this tournament, 15 were Fide rated players from Udupi, DK, and Kasargod.

The winners of the open category were Adithya Pai, Shabdik Varma, Arjun Adappa, Pangala Gopalakrishna Nayak, Sharan Rao, Vivek Raj, and Manojan Ravi.

The winners of the Under 15 Boys Category were Saurav Boloor and Vishruth Sharma. The winners of the Under 15 Girls Category were Siri Sharma and Panchami Shenoy.

 

While Rajath Rao and Pranav Shetty emerged as the winners of the Under 12 Boys Category, the winners of the Under 12 Girls Category were Isha Sharma and Swathi Bhat.

 

While Sathwik Acharya and Shridhar Sher emerged as the winners of the Under 9 Boys Category, the winners of the Under 9 Girls Category were Hitha K. and Poorvi Adappa.

Parithosh emerged as the winner of the Under 7 Category while Shashidhar Rai emerged as the Best Veteran.
