These KDP monthly review meetings, held to review progress of development projects launched in the districts, are chaired by K. T. Shailaja Bhat.

Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of the ZP, said that a show cause notice will be sent to each officer who failed to turn up for the meeting on Monday. The attendance of officials who were present was also taken.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Bhat said that the CM was especially concerned about development in the district as he hails from DK.

CEO Dr. Vijayaprakash said that the ZP was holding talks with cooperative societies regarding the adoption of 602 disabled children. Revealing statistics, he said that DK has 5,054 disabled children between the ages of 6 and 14.

Further, he said that the government has earmarked Rs. 150.62 for the ZP’s annual action plan for 2012 – 13. While the state’s share was Rs. 84.64, the centre’s share was Rs. 65.98 crore, and the total allocation this year is Rs. 39.25 crore more than the funds released for the ZP action plan 2011 – 12, he added.

Janardhana Gowda, the chairman of the standing committee for social justice, requested information regarding solid waste management projects and Koraga welfare projects and was not happy with responses he received.
