Absconding Accused in Kotekar Cooperative Bank Robbery Arrested

Mangaluru, June 7, 2026: Police have arrested an absconding accused in connection with the robbery at Kotekar Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha on K.C. Road that took place in January 2025.

The accused, identified as Dharmabeer Birendra Singh alias Dharmaveer Singh (34), had been on the run since the incident. A special police team was formed to trace and apprehend him.

Acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted and arrested the accused near Panvel Railway Station in Maharashtra on May 11. A native of Surat, he is known to have used multiple aliases, including Manoj Jeet Lal Verma, Dharm, Master and Kallu.

The accused was brought to Ullal Police Station on May 12 and produced before a court, which granted 10 days of police custody for interrogation.

Following the completion of police custody, he was produced before the court again on May 22 and remanded to judicial custody, Police Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy said.
