ABVP to organize state-level exhibition at Sahyadri Engineering College

Mangalore, Apr 11, 2012: The local unit of the Akhil Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will organize a 3-day, state-level project exhibition and competition in Sahyadri Engineering College, Adyar on April 12 – 14 as part of Srishti 2012. A seminar competition and paper presentation based on the theme “science and technology for social empowerment” will form part of the event. 

ABVP Secretary Vinay Bidare told reporters at a press conference that most of the projects cannot be applied practically although a huge amount of money is spent by engineering college students on their projects. He also pointed out that most of the projects lack originality. 

About 500 projects by students of engineering colleges all over the state will be displayed and about 2000 students will participate in this exhibition. 

Dr. Umesh Booshi, the professor of Sahyadri Engineering College; Dr. Shrinivas Balli, the convener of Srishti 2012; State ABVP Secretary Ramesh K., and City Secretary Chinmay Rai were also present.
