A classic case of fence grazing the crop!

Mangalore, Aug 15, 2013 : In a classic instance of the fence grazing the crop, a police personnel of the Reserve Police Force was arrested on August 13, Tuesday night for allegedly trying to burgle a house of an advocate at Darandabagilu Pilar near Thokkottu.

The arrested police personnel is Varun (35) from Madikeri. The family of the advocate Anand Gatti on hearing sound from the first floor of the house at around 11.30 pm came out to find if someone had entered the first floor by climbing the nearby coconut tree.

The thief who was inside ran down the stair case and escaped through the front door even as the family members watched with shock.

Finally locals who gathered at the spot began a search for him and spotted an Activa with Madikeri registration parked near Darandabagilu Temple. After a long wait the locals who were in hiding behind a bush saw Varun coming out and trapped him. Though he once again tried to escape, he was chased and caught. It was then that it came to light that he was a cop.

He was later arrested by the Ullal police.
