22-year-old Rithesh killed in road accident

Mulky, Dec 14, 2011 : Rithesh D’Souza (22) died this morning when his bike was first hit by an auto rickshaw and then by a lorry. The tragic incident happened near Haleangady on NH66 on the evening of Dec 14 Wednesday.

According to eyewitnesses, Rithesh’s bike was hit by an auto rickshaw, which caused him to lose balance and fall on the road. A lorry that was passing along hit him, while the auto rickshaw driver fled the scene.

Aaron Mendonca, who was riding pillion with him was injured, but is currently out of danger.

Rithesh was the son of Francis Xavier of Kenha Mudarangady and Aaron is the son of Louis Mendonca. The friends had been to Shirva to attend a church feast, from where they had gone to Mangalore. They were heading back home from Mangalore when they met with this accident.

Rithesh was a DJ, who had done his ITI in automobiles at Don Bosco Academy in Trasi and had worked for Volvo. Aaron is a student of St. Mary’s College in Shirva.

The Mulky police have registered a case.
