4 held in Mumbai minor girl gang-rape

Bangalore, May 13, 2014, DHNS: Four men were arrested by the HSR Layout police on Tuesday in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a Mumbai girl in the City on Saturday night.

The arrested are Bahubali Subhash Veerapura, Manjunath, Vinod, all working as lab technicians in private companies, and Bahubali Sheetal, employed with a car showroom in Hoskote.

 

Veerapura and Sheetal are said to be relatives and native of Haveri. Manjunath is a native of Mandya and Vinod is from Arekere. They were all living together at Vinayaka Nagar in Whitefield.

After gathering clues, the police arrested them from their hideout in Hebbagodi.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the four men decided to get a call girl to spend the night with them. They contacted a woman through one of the websites, which provides escort service, and the woman put them across to a pimp, the police said.

The pimp arranged a call girl and gave them her phone number and fixed the price. They contacted the girl and fixed Bellandur as the pick-up point. Veerapura went to Bellandur and picked her up and took her to their house at Vinayaka Nagar.

She had agreed to provide service to only one of them, but on reaching the house she realised that there were three more.

The moment they started forcing themselves on her, she argued with them and asked them to drop her back.

The police said that as Veerapura was taking her on his bike to drop her, she noticed others following them.

As the bike slowed down at a speedbreaker, she jumped off the vehicle and ran into an apartment at Nagondahalli in Whitefield.

Veerapura chased her and confronted her and exchanged expletives. The rest joined him and out of rage pushed her from the second floor of the building and fled the spot.

The accused were traced to Hebbagodi through call details and mobile phone numbers collected from the girl’s phone. The police are now trying to trace the pimp and the woman, whose arrest will throw more light on the prostitution racket.
