Mangaluru: Dairy farmer’s 7 cows die suspiciously within 10 days

Mangaluru, June 23, 2025: A dairy farmer’s seven cows have died mysteriously in a span of ten days at Neermarga. Joseph Staney Prakash is the dairy farmer who lost his cows. He resides near Kelarai church.

There is strong suspicion that the cows were poisoned by someone. On June 12 one cow had died following which veterinarian had sent its samples for test. Meanwhile six cows died in the shed while one died at the place of grazing. Still one more cow is in critical state.

Joseph is into dairy farming since 50 years and has over 30 cows and says this is the first time cows have died in this way.

Veterinary doctors of the Animal Husbandry Department have said the cause of the death of the cows will be known after the medical report is out.
